Grant Park is one of the “forever free and open” spaces which Daniel Burnham, famed architect and city planner, envisioned for Chicago back in 1909.  Today it remains one of Chicago’s main gathering places, and is the site of many of the city’s summer festivals, including Blues Fest, Jazz Fest, Gospel Fest, the Fourth of July Fireworks and the big daddy of them all, the Taste of Chicago.  Grant Park is known for its beautiful green spaces along the lakefront, with manicured gardens and walkways.  While this tour only highlights three “must see” items in Grant Park, depending on your tastes, you can spend a couple of hours or a good part of the day.  Given Grant Park’s proximity to Millennium Park, you may want to combine the Grant Park Tour with the Millennium Park Tour. (Approximate distance of Grant Park walking tour: 0.5 miles.)
